Somewhere on the Earth's southern most continent, Ebony of Nubilia (the current high priestess of the Shoggoth Cult) makes her way across the frozen tundra. She is heading for the Communications Chamber of a fallen craft that "landed" there. She walked among the few remaining parts. The ones that had not burned up on re-entry of a once great star ship. Some of it was still burning. Then, she found the part she was searching for. It was still mostly intact, which was good.

Ebony is followed by the Manga Shoggoth's "daughter", Cthandra. "She" was/is a part of the main bio-mass known as the Manga Shoggoth, but has a personality all her own. She acts much like a young female human. Cthandra was not wearing anything for she did not need to, but Ebony was. She was dressed up in her heaviest of winter clothing. She only felt minor piece of the bitter cold. They stopped at a hatchway door which would lead them into the Communications Chamber. They talked for a moment & then the Elder Being offspring went to work. She flowed over the hatch & began to dissolve it as she went. Once most of the door had been eaten away at, Ebony followed Cthandra inside.

Neither Ebony or Cthandra noticed that they were being watched. They didn't see the the male standing on a dune no more then a hundred feet away from them. The snow was being whipped up & blown around helped conceal him a bit, but he was still visible. The man stood there, his crimson colored cape flapped in the wind. He had his hood pulled down over his face. He was waiting for the High Priestess, the Elder Being Offspring & the various other heroes to leave the ship. His master has plans for her.

------------------

After the Crew & their Rescuers had left, the man walks towards the Communications Center to retrieve the object he came for. He walked into the last remaining full section of the ship. The Man in the cape thought it was kind of sad to see it this way. It should have remained intact, retired & put in his Master's museum. But, since it was destroyed, he would now only take what he came for. The Man walked down the corridor to when Vessel said her last words. He pulled out a tracing device, he needed to know where to operate.

The beeping got louder as he got closer to his query. The sound was almost defining once he got there. From under his cape he pulled out a screwdriver. He started to unscrew a large metal panel. As each screw came out, he placed them nearby. Once all the screws were off, he pulled off the panel to reveal Vessel's "brain". It was not shaped like a human brain but that's basically what it was. All the lights on were off & most of the wires around it were badly burnt. He remembered back to what his master said & only cut certain wires. Once they were off, he took out the brain. Once it was out of it's cavity. He screwed back on the panel & left with CPU of Vessel. Put his screwdriver back into his cape.

"One down & three to go!" He said as he exited Vessel. And with a simple flick of the wrist, he was gone.

------------------

A sub-basement of the Lair Legion Mansion, the man appears with the brain in tow. He has certain dampeners set up to help him in his quest. The dampeners were there to fool the Mansion's sensors & it's A.I., Hallie. In fact the Man was there for Hallie, but just taking her would be to obvious. He pulls out from under his cloak a device. He is currently standing where Hallie's main Hard Drive is stored. The Man thought it was odd that it resided in the same room as the Water Heater.

He was almost ready to do his business when he heard someone coming his way. He should not be found, it was not time! With yet another flick of the wrist, he was gone. Lee Bookman absent mindedly walks by. He stops, goes back to peer into the room, does so & wonders why the door was open. He shrugs of the feeling of unease he has. Then, closes the door & goes on his way down to the File Room. Once he is alone, The man returns. Lee didn't even noticed the out of place CPU of a clearly alien design.

"And my Master said your smart." The Cloaked Mystery Man thought as he placed his transfer disk on to Hallie's outer casing. He pressed a few buttons & then the download begins.

Elsewhere in the Mansion, Hallie is talking to Dancer in the Living Room. During mid-sentence, Hallie disappears & the Mansion's lights flicker for a moment. Then, the lights turn back on & Hallie reappears with a look of astonishment on her face.

"What was that?" said the Probability Dancer.

"I'm not sure. That's never happened before & after a check on my systems I can't seem to find a problem. It doesn't seem to be anything."

"But, your Blue!" Dancer said.

"What?" Hallie said & looked at her hands. Yes, she was blue.

“HARPER!” Hallie yelled. Then, she went off to find the Legion's scientific advisor.

Dancer not sure to go after her, picked up a magazine & began to read.

The Blip that made Hallie disappear & possibly made her blue was the Mystery Man's download finishing up. The man now had two of the objects his Master asked for. He picked up the brain, put the downloaded copy of Hallie under his cloak into a pocket. His next stop was a small cabin in the woods. With a flick of the wrist, he was gone. Then, Lee opened the door quickly to catch who ever was in there. He searches around for someone & finds no one.

------------------

Sometime later at a rustic cabin placed among various trees & in the background you can hear Shyminsky Falls, The Cloaked Mystery Man appears a few feet away from the Cabin. His Master warned him of the occupant, Al B. Harper & his cabin. He may look like a bungling absent minded scientist & it may look just like any other cabin. But, there is something more to them then that. The man slowly creeps up to a window & peers inside.

The main living space is cluttered with various machines & other robotic objects. Sitting on a stool at a table on the other side of the room was a slightly nerdy looking black man. He was wearing a white lab coat. He was working on something. A minute or two later, he gets up off the stool & walks over to a chalkboard which is covered with various calculations. Al picks up an eraser, erases a few things & then writes in something else. He stands there looking over his work on the board, he makes a few bubbles bubble out of his pipe. Then, Al goes back to his work table. The Man stands there for awhile waiting for Doctor Harper to leave the room, but doesn't. The Man waiting outside then sits down & leans against the cabin wall. He then slowly falls asleep, traveling these far distances takes a lot out of him.

Sometime later, he awakes & peers inside. Now, Al B. is asleep, he has fallen asleep at his work table. He can now go in with a flick of the wrist, he does. He makes sure not to awake Harper, for it is not yet time for him to be revealed to the world. He goes around collecting various pieces of technology. The last piece he needs is on the table near Harper's head. He silently curses to himself & very quietly leans over the scientist. As he does this, Harper beings to move.

"Crap!" the mystery man thought.

Harper mumbles something about someone called Yuki & falls back asleep. With this he has moved just enough that the Cloaked Mystery Man can get the device he needs. Just before he leaves, he looks over at the chalkboard. He picks up the eraser, erases a few things. Then, writes in the correct information (He just saved Al B. 8 years of work & prevented the extinction of all human life on earth). With yet another flick of the wrist, he's off to his last stop.

------------------

He arrives in the Special Project's area of Bautista Enterprises . The dampeners he used in the LL Mansion are at work again. Before he was sent on his mission, his master gave him one special warning: Don't touch anything that you don't know what it is while at Bautista Enterprises. He searches the area with his eyes. It, much like Harper's Cabin, was cluttered with various machines & other robotic objects. Most of them were half finished or exploded beyond repair.

The Special Project's Area is being used as more of storage then as an actual work area, so there is a great possibility that he wouldn't meet anyone. He continues to search, not finding what he needs. He knows it's big & shouldn't be hard to find! He walks by a seemingly innocent pile of parts until it started to move. He was a few feet away from it before it had formed fully. The Security Bot stood about seven feet tall & walked over to the man.

"HALT!" it roboticly said.

The man in the crimson colored cape turned around to see who was addressing him. He looked it over: It was Red & Yellow in color, It also looked it was going to fall apart any minute. It was definitely a NTU Creation!

"You do not have security clearance to be in this area. Identity yourself & stand down!" The Bot said.

The man in the cloak could hear various weapons systems powering up.

"You know what?" He said, the bot didn't reply. "I don't think I'll do that."

Before the Bot could do anything, The man flung a circular disc at it. It hit one of the Bot's legs, powered up & then, the disc & Bot were gone.

"And It looks like I'm done." The cloaked mystery man said. With a flick of his wrist he was gone, too.

------------------

Sometime later, he appeared in a crystalline environment. Most everything was crystal in nature. Standing in a corner, powered down, was the Bautista Security Bot. The Man unloaded his cape on a table in front of him, He took out Vessel's CPU. Next to it he placed the downloaded Hallie program. Finally came the various pieces of technology "borrowed" from Harper's cabin.

"So, I assume the mission was successful?" said a voice.

"Yes. Yes, it was, my master."

"Good. For now step two can begin!" The master said & started to laugh.

THE END!
